Anyone else still reeling from Sunday’s #TWD?
I watch copious amounts of TV and write about it. I also watch movies and am ridiculously addicted to cooking shows.

It all depends…I am, quite frankly, a bit torn (not a Glenn-style of a state of being torn, of course). On the one hand, I hate to see him gone so quickly like that when there are far Bigger Things coming down the road, so to speak. I want desperately to believe the fan theories that Glenn isn’t gone, that he used the body as cover (which is what the Walkers were munching on) and he rolled under the dumpster. Then again, I don’t want some sort of hokey “Surprise! You thought he was dead, and he WASN’T” twist either. That could cheapen TWD.

I know what you mean. I guess I should have seen Glenn’s demise coming a mile away, seeing as that’s usually the case for whoever claims the role of the ‘moral compass’ of TWD (first Dale, then Hershel, Tyreese, now Glenn), but I was still pretty bummed to see him killed off like that. As much as I agree with you that having Gleen come back in a surprise twist would cheapen the show, I’m still hoping the fan theory is correct. What made this even more gut-wrenching for me was Rick’s hand injury. I haven’t read the comic books but I have a pretty good idea what happens to him at some point, and I think that’s the direction they’re going with this. I guess I’m just very annoyed because they can’t seem to catch a break; after Noah’s gruesome death I had been hoping that none of our guys would be killed off for a while…

I’ve read most of the comic series, and I like the differences between the TV version and that. That said, however, I’m secretly hoping that the showrunners stick with the comic premise behind Glenn’s “future” as (and I’m sure you’ve noticed this, reading others’ vantages on the show) the show has been teasing with hints from elements of the comic. I don’t want to give anything away, of course, so I am trying to be as vague as I can here.
Rick’s hand…Yes, indeed, and that seems to be where it’s headed (his hand was “removed” by the Governor in the comic — I feel that’s not too spoilery simply because we are now post-Governor).
As for the moral compass/center, funny you should mention that. I was talking to a colleague of mine about that very issue in that the moral “voice” of the group has to constantly shift due to the death of the “voice’s” predecessor. It would be sad for Glenn to go because of it, but that simply means someone else gets to carry that responsibility. My colleague is bummed that it may have to be someone new rather than one of the “old” group.

I actually try to avoid reading anything even remotely related to the comic books because I don’t want anything spoiled so I’m really curious as to what the fate of Glenn will be on the show. I only know about Rick’s hand because it was mentioned a couple of times on Talking Dead…
(and I’m secretly hoping they’ll spare us the loss of Rick’s hand, to be honest).
As far as the moral voice of the group goes, I hope your colleague is wrong because I simply don’t think anyone new is good enough 😉 . For a while it looked like Maggie could be that person, getting involved in the ‘government’ aspect of the community and all, but I guess it’s safe to say she’s out of the running now – she’s just bound to become unstable after losing the last family she had left. I’m curious to see how the Carol/Morgan relationship plays out, as well as Michonne’s role in all of this. Her speech to Heath had quite an impact and she seems to have her wits about her much more than Rick or even Daryl at this point.
For now I’m just looking forward to this Sunday’s 90′ episode though! If there’s one thing I’ve learned on this show is that you never know what to expect.

Perhaps Michonne will be the moral voice this time around? She seems a good fit, but Morgan does as well, with his code (even if he did have to break it for defensive purposes). It looks like this next episode is focused on Morgan and what had happened to him before he came to Alexandria.

I agree – both would make excellent candidates. I’m more partial to Michonne, especially seeing as Morgan’s code almost got everyone killed (in Alexandria and with the wolves’ ambush of Rick’s RV).
I can’t wait to see Morgan’s back story this week (and I hope they don’t leave us hanging from last week’s cliffhanger).
